Social Understanding, Gender and Sexuality – an open evening lecture

7 June, 2017 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm UTC+0

An evening talk with Lisa Romero, for parents and teachers of students in the Steiner stream at Trinity Gardens School, to complement the conversations with students.

This evening is for parents, teachers and other interested persons who are working to support child and adolescent education. It helps to recognise the relevant depth and progression anthroposophy brings to this important aspect of life and the responsibility of community in raising adolescents.

How and when we work with children and adolescents to bring the understanding of sexuality and gender is in relation to where they are in their consciousness. This brings harmony between the evolving body and soul that sets the ground for healthy adult experience. This talk will cover some of the main issues confronting child health and wellbeing in current times, and how we can counter the unbalancing effects. The lecture also addresses gender differences and similarities that can both limit or free us.

This will be an invaluable talk bringing perspectives from Waldorf Education to what is called the ‘earth ripe’ phase of adolescent development.

Lisa Romero will be in some classes on Thursday to speak with them about sexuality and gender as part of the Health and Wellness Curriculum
