DESCRIPTION:An open public event in the Hall at Shearwater Steiner School for everyone who is interested in understanding the various forms of human relationship\, and how we might work together to bring about a healthier community life. \n. \nA healthy relationship to gender and sexuality supports our wellbeing\, both as individuals and as a community. The form of sex education that we bring to children and adolescents not only needs to combat the inner disturbances and imbalances created by social media and exposure to pornography – as the most prevalent sources of implicit sex-eduction in our time – but it also needs to serve them in cultivating useful capacities with which to meet the growing societal changes around this fundamental aspect of being human. \n. \nProviding a healthy and socially constructive sex education is the responsibility not only of the primary caregivers\, parents\, and teachers\, but also of the individuals in the wider community\, who likewise contribute to the collective consciousness. \n. \nWorking to overcome our own biases and imbalances will prepare us to more readily awaken to the spiritual wisdom that can bring health and harmony into the evolving reality of gender and sexuality. \n

Working in this way reveals that educating is far beyond the content. SUMMARY:Working with Social Understanding\, Gender and Sexuality - The Understanding of Being More than Male and Female
DESCRIPTION:This professional development is comprised of three weekend courses to build an understanding of the relevant depth and progression anthroposophy brings to this important aspect of life.\nAn individual can choose to attend any or all of the courses. Teachers\, health professionals and those working with young people will find them beneficial to understand how differences and similarities work in childhood development\, human relationships and spiritual development in the changing needs of our time. Supporting this aspect of the health and well-being of the individual child’s relationship to gender and sexuality results in greater resilience and confidence in their growing relationship to the wider community.\nThroughout the training we look at environmental and community influences on sexuality and gender in young people’s lives. When working out of anthroposophy we are asked not to judge the other by gender and to teach in a unisexual way. It helps to recognise the relevant depth and progression anthroposophy brings to this important aspect of life and the responsibility of community in raising adolescents.\nHow and when we work with children and adolescents to bring the understanding of sexuality and gender is in relation to where they are in their consciousness. This brings harmony between the evolving body and soul that sets the ground for healthy adult experience. This talk will cover some of the main issues confronting child health and wellbeing in current times\, and how we can counter the unbalancing effects. The three course are: \n\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – The Understanding of being Male and Female\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – Understanding and Developing the Masculine and Feminine Forces Towards Harmony\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – Understanding Individual Responsibility in Working Towards New Community\n\nAn individual can choose to attend any or all of the courses in any sequence. Teachers\, health professionals and those working with young people will find them beneficial to understand how differences and similarities work in childhood development\, human relationships and spiritual development in the changing needs of our time. Supporting this aspect of the health and well-being of the individual child’s relationship to gender and sexuality results in greater resilience and confidence in their growing relationship to the wider community. \nThroughout the training we look at environmental and community influences on sexuality and gender in young people’s lives. When working out of anthroposophy we are asked not to judge the other by gender and to teach in a unisexual way. Only through deep understanding of the un-freedom of being man or woman can we contribute to the education and development of others in freedom. \nThis November training is Understanding and Developing the Masculine and Feminine Forces Towards Harmony\nFrom an esoteric view of the human being\, it can be understood that within the individual there are both masculine and feminine forces. This course will explore the development of these masculine and feminine forces within the child\, what occurs when there are imbalances and how these imbalances may be expressed later in adult sexuality and social behaviours.
