DESCRIPTION:Working Wholistically with Social Understanding\, Gender and Sex is a social program that gradually unfolds for students as they move from Class 5 to 12.\nIt encourages equality and self confidence by building recognition and acceptance of inner individuality that develops alongside changes in the physical body and the recognition of social conditioning verses the possibility of individual choice. SUMMARY:Student Wellbeing Curriculum
DESCRIPTION:Work with students in Class 5 to 11 will be between August 13 to 17. \nAn evening lecture for parents of Kinder to Class 7 students with Lisa Romero will be on Monday August 13th at 6pm. And for parents of Class 7 to 12 students the lecture will be on Thursday August 16th at 6pm. \nLisa Romero has been offering this contribution to the Wellbeing Curriculum for students at Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School for almost a decade. The component starts the year the child turns 11 years old\, an age when the growth in the child’s body and soul develops towards puberty and becomes ready to receive more conscious pictures around gender and sexuality. Before that age\, a child experiences and learns about their place in the world according to how the community thinks and behaves. Learning about gender and sexuality evolves out of how the family and community refer to the child and how society refers to or sees behind race\, sex\, gender\, and other physical or cultural differences in people. We leave the other free when we recognise their individual capacities and support them towards working from these capacities in life.\nThere are now a number of facilitators from Developing the Self Developing the World who now also deliver the module. For Classes 5  – 11 (from 11 – 18 years old)\, a facilitator meets with each class at school for an hour long session building up themes relating to developing social understanding through wholistic gender and sex education.\nFor More information on the Student Wellbeing Curriculum go to http://developingtheself.org/student-program/

DESCRIPTION:In community life we learn consciously and unconsciously from each other. Rudolf Steiner stated that to be an educator in the Consciousness-soul Age we need to be able to elicit the individuality. This course focuses on how to perceive support and elicit the true nature of the individual human being from childhood to adulthood. We will explore the changing role and the need for new community responsibility\, that can provide young people with what is needed in the growing self-consciousness and separation that they are facing. DESCRIPTION:This professional development is comprised of three weekend courses to build an understanding of the relevant depth and progression anthroposophy brings to this important aspect of life. The three course are: \n\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – The Understanding of being Male and Female\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – Understanding and Developing the Masculine and Feminine Forces Towards Harmony\nWorking Wholistically with Gender and Sexuality – Understanding Individual Responsibility in Working Towards New Community\n\nAn individual can choose to attend any or all of the courses in any sequence. Teachers\, health professionals and those working with young people will find them beneficial to understand how differences and similarities work in childhood development\, human relationships and spiritual development in the changing needs of our time. Supporting this aspect of the health and well-being of the individual child’s relationship to gender and sexuality results in greater resilience and confidence in their growing relationship to the wider community. \nThroughout the training we look at environmental and community influences on sexuality and gender in young people’s lives. When working out of anthroposophy we are asked not to judge the other by gender and to teach in a unisexual way. Only through deep understanding of the un-freedom of being man or woman can we contribute to the education and development of others in freedom. \nThis November training is Understanding and Developing the Masculine and Feminine Forces Towards Harmony\nFrom an esoteric view of the human being\, it can be understood that within the individual there are both masculine and feminine forces. This course will explore the development of these masculine and feminine forces within the child\, what occurs when there are imbalances and how these imbalances may be expressed later in adult sexuality and social behaviours.
