DESCRIPTION:Counterbalancing the persuasive influences of technology on our inner capacities\, particularly those of young people.  \nwith Lisa Romero \nOur patterns of thinking\, our feelings and our will impulses are directly influenced by the community in which we grow. The foundations of both inner freedom and unfreedom are laid down through the course of childhood. With the rise of technology permeating extensively our outer lives\, we are now being faced with its effects on our inner lives and its artificial influence over the development of thinking\, feeling and will impulses. Technology is forming our community’s future and in doing so extending its persuasive influence into the inner capacities of its members. \nWe can choose to be ready as individuals\, and as a collective community\, with capacities—with the necessary inner strengths—to freely choose the way of life we determine to be supportive of the progression of humanity. We need to establish communities that are dedicated to human freedom; communities in which community health\, child education\, and social life are imbued with impulses supportive of the cultivation of individual freedom. \nPlease contact the school for information about the evening.

SUMMARY:Towards Understanding Sexuality & Gender in Adolescents (Class 7 to 12)
DESCRIPTION:Lisa will be sharing how and when we work with adolescents to bring the understanding of sexuality and gender in relation to where they are in their consciousness. Practical support at different stages of their development will be discussed and how to work in the health education of all stages of their changing relationship to these topics. This talk will cover some of the main issues confronting child health and wellbeing in current times\, and how we can counter the unbalancing effects. In November this year\, a 3 days course on this topic will be offered for adults working with this age group.  Publications will be available for purchase at this lecture.

SUMMARY:Development Health & Education - 3 day course
DESCRIPTION:As we grow into life the needs of our health and education change. Through understanding the esoteric wisdom behind Waldorf Education we understand why teachers are also seen as preventative health carers. This wisdom leads us to gain knowledge of our own capacity to prevent or correct imbalances in body and soul. \nThis course is valuable for all people working with or caring for children in the various stages of child development. Looking at the individual expression of a child’s being\, we begin to see their individual needs. At the same time we recognise the collective journey of childhood and the inevitable path of growth and change so that we can guide their unfolding stages in the healthiest way possible. Doing so brings insights into our own growth and development needs as adults and the inner exercises support our own strengthening enabling us to perceive and meet the needs of the child.
